Our Chinese brothers and sisters give thanks for the Christian materials we deliver and ask for our prayers as they face continuing persecution from the authorities:
Thank you so much to all who prayed with us as we sought to find an Operations Director to take responsibility for the administrative and operational side of the ministry of Antioch Missions - Chinese Church Support Ministries. We are now delighted to introduce you to Kathryn, who joined us in the second half of 2009.
The Antioch School of Missions, based in China, seeks to serve the Body of Christ by equipping and releasing individuals and families who are passionate for His cause in China. The school currently accommodates an average of five to seven students with a goal of expanding to 10-15 per year. Three ASM programs are offered: a six-month ‘mini' course that runs from late August to February; an 11-month ‘gap year' course; and an 11-month ‘full' course for those considering long-term service in China. The last two programs run from late August to July each year. Further details can be found at www.asmchina.org.
The intent of these articles is to inform and challenge.
We started in the south where we were to work with some friends. My son had met ‘B' three years ago. B had just become a believer at that time and was now leading a small team in an outreach to university students.
The families are so grateful for the support they receive. One grandfather insisted we take a gift from him for helping to educate his granddaughter.
In 2004, AM-CCSM's international director Ross Paterson was approached by a very popular English Bible teacher, David Pawson, who asked Ross to help make his ‘Unlocking the Bible' series available to the Chinese Church.
"We looked and we listened, praying that the Lord of the harvest would open our eyes and our ears, so that we could walk and intercede according to His will. God not only needs workers for the harvest, but He also needs intercessors to prepare the way and prepare people's hearts. We were a group of intercessors praying to the Lord of the harvest, on our knees and with our tears, preparing the way, waiting for the appearance of the glory of God. I learnt that we must pray without ceasing, until we see God's promise fulfilled in that city, that land and that nation!" - ‘Y', an intercession team member
A year ago, in China Challenge no. 35, we shared with you our belief that the ministry of Antioch Missions - Chinese Church Support Ministries had reached a new stage in our development.
Back at Uni, if you had asked me where I thought I would be in five years' time, there is no way on earth I would ever have expected to be in China!
