Canada Base News

We have talked about sending a team from Canada to China in the fall and that is now firmly in the planning stages. Some people have expressed interest and others have already filled out application forms and are fully committed to the trip. On April 1st we had our second meeting to discuss various aspects of the trip. Our main focus was prayer and we would like to invite anyone else who can come along to these monthly meetings to join us as we pray. Drop me an email at canada@amccsm.org and I will keep you up to date on the meeting dates and times. We are planning to have these meetings as a ‘bring-and-share' lunch after most people have been to their normal church services on Sundays. If you are not able to come but would like to pray for this team, please send me an email and I will keep you updated on the things we are praying for.

In my Bible reading recently, God directed me to James 4:2, which says, "You do not have because you do not ask God." There are many things that we need funds for: printing Christian literature; Bible projects; the planned mission trip; office expenses etc. I have spent some considerable time asking God to supply our needs, so that we can help His Kingdom grow and mature in China, and I understood Him to say to me, "Go to my people and ask them to help. I have funds that you do not know about and I will release them." Since I prayed, I have received several gifts to help with the work, but we need more.

One area where we need funds is for the planned China trip. Not just to help people come on the trip, but primarily to take to the co-workers we will be ministering to in the foster homes we run in China. If you feel the Lord is calling you to contribute, please contact me and I will let you know the best way to give towards this project.

I have been working long hours and feel the work in the CCSM Canada office has started to become too much for me alone. If we are to carry on efficiently in the office, I need someone who can come in for two half days a week and take some of the load from me. It should be exciting work and you will certainly get to see the church in China from a different perspective. There is plenty to do in the Kingdom of God but our first priority is prayer. Join us if you can on the second Wednesday of each month as we pray for the Church in China. My prayer is that you find your purpose and move into action with us as we team up to do the Lord's work.

Pray for the team that is now forming to go to China in the fall, as they get to know each other and share their burdens with each other.

Pray for the provision of funds to take to the foster homes, so that they will be able to provide a comfortable home for the children cared for there.

Pray too for funds to flow in for other aspects of the work of CCSM.

Pray also about what your part is in the work we are doing in China - I do not think for one minute that you receive this Prayer Update ‘by chance'. You are on it for a reason and you have a purpose in God with us.
