Australian Director AM-CCSM

Antioch Missions/ Chinese Church Support Ministries (AM-CCSM) (www.amccsm.org) is a Christian Missions Organisation that is committed to serving the Church in China. Established in 1985 by Ross Paterson, it does this by seeking to serve, strengthen and support the church and the people of China and meets their needs by providing Bibles, teaching books and DVD teaching programmes. We also provide care and outreach for vulnerable children and adults through our mercy work. AM-CCSM arranges short term team trips each year for Christians to visit China from its ten bases, as well as conducting a School of Missions for training long-term workers located inside China.

The Base Director plays an essential role in raising support for the work of AM-CCSM in China, fundraising and communicating and promoting the needs of the Church in China to the Church across Australia, in a manner that is relevant and consistent with the values and the objectives of the Ministry. The Australian office is currently located in Perth, W.A., but can be re-located to any capital city across Australia to suit the successful applicant.

AM-CCSM Australia is seeking a highly motivated person who has a calling to China, to fill the role of the Australian Director commencing on 1 January 2012.
 
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Communicating the needs of the Church in China in Churches, home groups and public meetings across Australia.
  • Raising financial and prayer support for the work of AM-CCSM in China
  • Working with the Ministry Board (Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer) to oversee the ministry in accordance with the Government and legal requirement of the state of Australia in which the ministry is registered.
  • Working with the Executive Committee of AM-CCSM International and the Operations Team to ensure good cooperation and communication with the International Team and with other bases of AM-CCSM.
  • Ensuring the administration and financial areas of the base are kept in order and reported quarterly to AM-CCSM International in accordance with Policies and Procedures.
  • Seeking opportunities to develop AM-CCSM's prayer ministry across Australia.
  • Leading a regular monthly China prayer meeting as well as overseeing and developing additional prayer meetings.
  • Raising up State and local representatives to promote the ministry across Australia.
  • Overseeing and working with the Head of Member Care, AM-CCSM International and home churches in the provision of member care to those in China who have gone to China from Australia.
  • Promoting and recruiting individuals to attend short-term teams, as well as the Antioch School of Missions.
  • Writing articles for the China Challenge magazine when required.
  • Connecting with and supporting the wider Missions community across Australia by involvement in Missions Interlink and mission's conferences.
  • Developing and maintain relationships with key Church leaders across Australia (Partnership Churches) and particularly in the State where the base is located.
  • Participating in regular prayer and ministry huddles with leaders of other bases.
  • Attending the annual Directors / In-China workers Conference in Asia.
  • Seeking other opportunities to promote the ministry, such as through radio interviews and Christian newspapers.
  • Facilitating AM-CCSM communication with supporters by producing E-news.
  • Ensuring the training and development of all staff and volunteers.

Experience and qualifications:
Essential

  • A demonstrated involvement and commitment to overseas Missions.
  • A demonstrated heart for the Chinese and the Nation of China. A demonstrated experience in a leadership role in either a Church or secular position.
  • A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in a public group or forum.

Desirable

  • Ability to speak Mandarin Chinese
  • Experience as a Pastor or Elder in a local Church, with a responsibility for preaching.
  • Theological/ Bible College qualifications, but experience will be taken into consideration.

Character and Complementary Skills:

  • A vibrant Christ-centred faith as evidenced by a commitment to regularly engaging God in prayer, reflection and His Word
  • Intentionally engagement in an expression of local church
  • Personal qualities including:
    • Highly developed communication skills.
    • Capacity to work under pressure and meet short time deadlines
    • Proven intellectual capacity
  • Display in his/her private and professional life a Christian worldview that will allow him/her to represent AM-CCSM
    • Integrity
    • Good personal organization
    • Servant leadership qualities
  • Competence in using the Internet for emails, conferencing, etc. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Quicken¸ web, etc

It is envisaged that initially this would be a part-time position of 3 days per week. Although travel costs and other incidental expenses would be covered, along with a small allowance, it is expected that applicants would raise additional financial support and have the full backing of their home Church.

National Office Communications Officers

We are looking for volunteers for each of our bases to assist our country directors/coordinators and take responsibility for promoting the ministry.

Each of the 10 AM-CCSM bases is looking for a volunteer to find and develop opportunities to promote the ministry in their country. Duties will include:

  • brainstorming with the country director/coordinator on promotional issues
  • researching opportunities to promote AM-CCSM at churches and Christian events, through magazine adverts, etc
  • helping the local base director develop their own country-specific Reps programme
  • communicating with other volunteer local representatives in their country
  • communicating their country's promotional events to a wider audience

Volunteers must be familiar with email and have a good telephone manner.

Graphic Designer

We're looking for an English speaking graphic designer.

Are you passionate about graphics and design for print, web and hopefully video media? Do you have your own computer? Could you be the person to help us bring a new, current and edgy look to our ministry face?

We presently have some literature in Adobe Illustrator format and some in CorelDraw. Ideally we'd like you to bring it all into one format.
