AM-CCSM has the following opportunities available for those with suitable gifts and skills. We live in an electronic age, which makes geographical locations less important. Join our team and serve China with us!
The Antioch School of Missions, based in China, seeks to serve the Body of Christ by equipping and releasing individuals and families who are passionate for His cause in China. The school currently accommodates an average of five to seven students with a goal of expanding to 10-15 per year. Three ASM programs are offered: a six-month ‘mini' course that runs from late August to February; an 11-month ‘gap year' course; and an 11-month ‘full' course for those considering long-term service in China. The last two programs run from late August to July each year. Further details can be found at www.asmchina.org.
The school is seeking a committed Christian with a heart for mission to fill the role of Pastoral Care Coordinator. A married couple would be preferred. Knowledge and/or experience of China would be of particular benefit, as would a willingness to learn the Chinese language (if necessary).
The Pastoral Care Coordinator will assume primary pastoral responsibility for the well-being of the ASM students and also for other company members based within the city. There are currently an average of 15 other adult company members, along with their children, who are based in the ASM city and are involved in language study, teaching or business activities.
Duties of the Pastoral Care Coordinator will include, but are not limited to, meeting with the students and company members on a regular basis to oversee their spiritual, emotional, and personal development. On occasion the Pastoral Care Coordinator may be asked to travel to other cities in China to provide pastoral care for company members based elsewhere.
The Pastoral Care Coordinator will work closely with the ASM Director and Program Coordinator, and would ideally need to be in China for the full program duration of 11 months each year.
As with all our China-based co-workers, applicants would be expected to raise their own financial support to cover travel and living expenses, and to have the full backing of their home church.
