A Successful Trip
We give thanks to the Lord for the safe delivery of large numbers of Bibles and Christian books by our January courier team. Contacts in three different cities were delighted to receive a good amount of materials.
Fighting TB
China, which with 4.5 million cases currently has the world's second largest tuberculosis burden, is "fighting an uphill battle against drug-resistant forms of the disease."
Leaning on the Rock
Your prayers play a vital role in supporting our China-based co-workers. While many are having a powerful impact in the areas where they serve (see, for example, Tending the "Garden"), they also face numerous challenges in a culture and environment very different to their own.
Tending the “Garden”
It has been holiday time for those teaching English in schools and universities across China, but two of our co-workers involved in this ministry have made use of some of the break from classes to spend time with past students.
Praying for the Government
A couple of years ago, a church in ‘B' was under real pressure from the authorities. It was growing fast and it was difficult to find somewhere that the whole church could gather.

Exodus chapter 4 speaks of Moses' return to Egypt, called by God to rescue his people and to lead them out into the promised land. The Exodus, someone observed, is perhaps the greatest miracle in the Old Testament. It is also a 'type' of the work that the Lord Jesus came to achieve through His death on the cross and resurrection.

One of our Chinese co-workers encouraged us with the following story that took place in the recent New Year season: Her non-Christian nephews were helping to pack some books for our January courier team and picked up a Bible and some of the books for themselves. "We like the books," they said, "and we want our mum to read them."
Prepared Overseas
China has now overtaken the UK and New Zealand to become Australia's biggest source of immigrants, according to recently released figures. In the four months up to October 2009, Chinese migration to Australia grew by 15% compared to the same period in the previous year.
Control
"A senior Chinese police official has vowed ‘pre-emptive attacks' against threats to Communist Party control," according to a Reuters report. "Strike hard against hostile forces at home and abroad. Strive to anticipate and prevent, staging pre-emptive attacks," said Vice Minister for Public Security Yang Huanning.
Christians at Work
"The Chinese church always encourages Christians to serve God by alienating oneself from the secular world and working full-time in the church," reports Christian Communications Ltd (CCL), before asking, "How can Christians influence the world in this way?"
