Problems and Queries

Posted on 18 May 2009.

"I have found that some people in the church have a loving heart. However, regarding the interpretation of the Bible, different groups hold different views over which hot words are sometimes exchanged. I am greatly disappointed."

"Please pray for our church. There has been no church growth since 1998. Members contend with one another for power and position, resulting in the emergence of factions within the church. The situation is worrying."

"Is it true that Christians are not allowed to have their photographs taken for their identity cards? My church forbids us to take photographs. They say it violates the Ten Commandments. If it is so, I will not be able to get married. I will also encounter problems at work!"

"My co-workers and I want to spread the gospel. However, we do not know how to do it. Jesus commanded us to preach the gospel. As children of God, we know it is our mission and duty to do so. Many souls are in need of salvation. What are the practical ways to spread the gospel? Some brothers and sisters suggested that we pay visits door to door. Others said this may invite reproach. How should we do it? Please help us."

"We are a home-based church in an agricultural area. Many believers are old. And there are very few brothers."

Lift up one by one the Chinese brothers and sisters quoted. Each is struggling with an issue that also affects many other believers in China.

Pray for unity in the Chinese church and for a better understanding of Biblical strategies for solving conflict.

Pray against false teaching and for discernment for those who are in danger of being influenced by people emphasising deceptive ideas.

Pray for continued growth in the church. Pray that Chinese believers might have a real heart to share the Gospel along with the knowledge as to how to do so most effectively.
