AM-CCSM News

Posted on 28 June 2009.

We have recently placed orders for over 100,000 Christian teaching books to be printed in China.

These orders include copies of our popular books on family life, ‘Marriage Garden of Hundreds of Flavours' and ‘Christian Family Handbook', as well as various basic discipleship materials, including ‘Living God's Way' and ‘Abundant Light', and also a book explaining how best to combat the heretical teaching of the Eastern Lightning cult.

One method of distribution will be via the courier team that is heading for China in the second half of this month. The group, coming from Australia, the UK and the USA, will be carrying bags of the books to several groups who have requested them. Other books will be distributed by our local co-workers.

In early June, China had reported 67 cases of the H1N1 flu, the majority of whom had recently travelled overseas. To try to prevent further spreading of the flu, stringent measures were in place in airports and several hundred people had been quarantined as a precaution.

At the time of writing, all China's orphanages have also been closed to foreign visitors because of the H1N1 flu epidemic. So it seems likely that this month's mercy team will be meeting up with our long-term co-workers to visit some of our sponsored children and run a summer camp at a village school.

Please pray for the Lord's Hand upon each of the recently printed books as they are distributed across China. May they be a blessing and encouragement to many people.

Pray for the courier team heading to China this month. Pray for safety, protection and the successful delivery of all the materials.

Pray that the mercy team will be able to bring something of God's love, joy and peace to the children they meet with.

Pray that the Chinese authorities would be successful in stopping further spreading of the H1N1 flu. Pray too that the restrictions in place to contain the epidemic would not hinder the ministry of our two short-term teams.
