Nine months into 2009 and we are delighted to report that 795,000 copies of our Christian teaching books have been printed in China so far this year.

Our most popular books continue to be the ‘Christian Family Handbook' (70,000 printed) and ‘Marriage Garden' (40,000 printed), as well as some new devotional prayer booklets (115,000 printed). And in addition we have been able to supply 9,000 Bibles to our brothers and sisters in China. Thank you so much to all who have given financially and in prayer to enable this vital part of our ministry to continue.

For many months, work has been progressing on dubbing the popular ‘Unlocking the Bible' DVD series in Chinese and we are thrilled that the whole series, both Old and New Testaments, is now complete. Master copies have been taken into China and, by the time you read this, production of the whole Old and New Testaments should be underway. Our China-based colleagues plan to copy and distribute 10,000 copies of the series each month.

Back in June, one of our book deliveries was intercepted by the authorities, which naturally caused us some concern. But praise God that there do not seem to have been any negative repercussions from this incident. We delayed our July printing for a few weeks to be on the safe side, but are now continuing as normal once again.

Some of the first new books off the printing press were delivered by the courier team that was serving in China in July and August. All the materials they carried safely reached the intended recipients. The international mercy team that was in China at the same time as the couriers also had a successful trip. They were able to help out at a village school, doing some practical repairs and decoration, as well as organising craft activities for the children. We hope to bring you more news of these teams next month.

Give thanks to the Lord for the successful printing of 795,000 Christian teaching books so far this year, and for the 9,000 Bibles that have been delivered. Praise Him too for the successful completion of the dubbing of the ‘Unlocking the Bible' DVD series.

Give thanks that there appear to have been no negative repercussions from the interception of one delivery of our books. Continue to pray for the protection of all the materials and for the safety of all those involved in the production and delivery.

Pray for financial provision to enable us to continue providing all these materials to our Chinese brothers and sisters in coming months.

Give thanks for all who joined the courier and mercy teams last month. Pray that their ministry might continue to have an impact for many months and years to come. Pray that their testimonies might inspire more people to come to China to serve on the various short-term teams.
