Can you get the word out about the opportunities to serve in China? We have exciting short- and long-term opportunities to bring the message of the Gospel to China, but so far this year applications are very limited.

The worldwide economic crisis will obviously have an impact on available finance, but we can trust that when God calls, He provides for every need. Please prayerfully consider if He is calling you to join a short-term team later this year or if there are those around you that can be challenged to step out in faith and see God at work in new ways as they join a team to China. This year we are offering courier, mercy and intercession teams. You can contact your local AM-CCSM office for exact dates and further details.

The end of this month sees the closing date for applications to our Antioch School of Missions (ASM). Here’s what one of our current students has to say: “Not only do ASM students have an opportunity to learn a language, but the cross-cultural exposure is both challenging and rewarding. Living with fellow Christians from different countries has also really stretched me. I’ve been forced to rethink my priorities and discard prejudices I was unaware of harbouring. It’s produced growth and is equipping me spiritually to serve God in spirit and in truth. The youngest person on our team this year is 26 (but there have been younger) and last year the oldest was a grandmother in her mid-sixties. In fact there are several grandparents serving in China today! So age isn’t a factor. Maybe this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for?” Will you take up that challenge? Or encourage someone else to seek God’s purposes for their life through the ASM school? Thanks to your generous donations, copies of eight different books were recently printed inside China. These include the ‘Christian Family Handbook’, ‘Abundant Life’ and ‘Normal Christian Birth’. One believer wrote to us to say he enjoyed reading the books we sent him so much he often forgot to eat and sleep! His letter continued: “Many churches lack study materials. This means that believers who want to grow are struggling. The believers feel the lack of spiritual supplies and their hearts are hungry and thirsty. We hope to see more books like those which you supplied to us.”

Pray that the word will get out to Christians around the world about the need and opportunities to serve Him in China.

Pray for many to step out in faith and respond to God’s call to join a short-term team to China and play a part in bringing His Kingdom to that vast land.

Pray for any who are hesitating about joining this year’s Antioch School of Missions. May they see God’s provision and hear Him clearly speak to confirm His will for their lives.

Pray for the finance to come in to enable us to continue to respond to the many requests that reach us for more Christian teaching books.
